At Salgado Stone and Outdoor Living, the foundation of our work was laid long before blueprints and boots—it began with family, sacrifice, and hard work.
From the age of eight, summers were spent alongside a father, the founder of Mauricio’s Concrete and Stone, learning the trade one stone at a time. An immigrant from El Salvador, he built his business through grit and integrity, but his dream for his children reached beyond the jobsite. Education came first. College was the goal.
Those early years taught more than concrete and stone. They taught responsibility—giving estimates, translating for clients, and learning how trust is earned through honest work.
As a first-generation college student, studies in Landscape Architecture at West Virginia University opened the door to design at a higher level. That path led to a role at DCA Landscape Architects in Georgetown, working under renowned landscape architect Guy Williams. There, the focus shifted from simply building to designing with intention—blending plants and stone so outdoor spaces feel timeless and natural, as though they have always belonged. Every line, material, and detail mattered.
The plan was to continue on that path—until family needed help.
When health declined and the family business faced uncertainty, the decision was clear. The office was left behind, boots went back on, and the work returned to where it all began—this time guided by education, experience, and vision.
Today, Salgado Stone and Outdoor Living combines generations of craftsmanship with professional design expertise to create outdoor spaces that are both functional and beautiful—spaces designed for how people truly live, gather, and relax.
What sets our work apart is a belief that design should never be rushed or copied. Too often, outdoor projects become “copy and paste,” lacking intention or beauty. Every project begins with listening—understanding function, budget, lifestyle, and long-term goals.
Each client is offered a free consultation to ensure clarity and alignment from the start. For complex projects with multiple moving pieces, detailed designs and 3D renderings are provided so clients can fully experience their space before construction begins.
And no project is too small.
Repair work, small concrete pours, structural fixes, and simple improvements are welcomed and handled with the same care and attention as larger builds. Every job matters—because for the homeowner, it is never “just a small project.”
This is more than construction. It is thoughtful design, honest craftsmanship, and respect for every client’s investment.
At Salgado Stone and Outdoor Living, we are committed to building outdoor spaces that honor the past, serve the present, and are built to last.
